Introduction |
School of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology was established due to the growing number of people with communication impairment, which reflects a need for qualified audiologists and speech-language pathologists in Taiwan. In 1994, the Speech Language Pathology and Audiology was built and became a division within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. In 2000, School of Rehabilitation Medicine obtained the permission to divide into three independent departments and it officially became School of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. From 2011, the School provides two undergraduate program, Speech Language Pathology program and Audiology program. |

Purpose |
To provide a specialized undergraduate program in the fields of audiology and speech language pathology in Taiwan. To equip the students with professional knowledge and whole-human education. To prepare students for a career in speech-language pathology or audiology in a variety of educational, hospital, and private practice settings. To improve and enhance the quality and quantity of services in speech language pathology and audiology in Taiwan. |

Features |
•The school is composed of 12 full-time faculty scholars who earn either M.S. or Ph.D. in the field of communication science and disorders or audiology. •The design of curriculum aims to build knowledge and skills cumulatively across the years. The curriculum incorporate a variety of courses in basic hearing science, speech and hearing disorders, and internship •90% of graduates engage clinical SLP or audiologist, or go to graduate school in related fields •Hold international conference, to offer the up-to-date knowledge and expand students' international perspectives. |
